SUMMER PROGRAMS 2015 @ Orient Public Library

Blank Park Zoo - Friday, July 10 @ 3:00 pm. All ages welcome.

Fancy Nancy Party - Monday, July 6 @ 10:00 am, Registration required.

Lego Camps - 2:30 - 4:00 pm for 5 sessions; Wed June 3; Thursday June 25; Wed July 1; Thursday July 23; Wed August 5. No registration. For children just completed 2nd - 7th grade.

Paper Airplanes - Thursday July 9, 2:30 - 4:00 pm.
For children just completed 2nd - 7th grade. Children will experience flight through simple experiments. Paper will be folded in a variety of ways to create airplanes. Lift and directional surfaces will be adjusted to create rolls and loops. Registration is optional.

Preschool Story Hour - Thursday mornings at 10 am, June 4 - July 23.

Summer Reading - Mon, Tues, Wed, June 15, 16, 17 and Friday June 19. 9:30 - 11:30 am. Registration requested. For children who finished grades 1 - 5.

Adult Summer Programs

Author Visit: Thursday, June 4 at 3:00 pm at the public library.
Nile Ramsbottom will be at the public library Thursday, June 4 at 3:00 pm to sign copies of his new book and give a talk. The title of his book is Prepare for Leadership, from Farm Boy to Times Square.

Author Visit: Tuesday, June 23 at 6:30 pm @ Henry Wallace Country Life Ctr.
Debra Landwehr Engle from Winterset will be giving a talk, “A Writer’s Life” and signing copies
of her two books,
Grace from the Garden and The Only Little Prayer You Need. Appetizers, desserts, beverages will be served for $8.00. Reservations are appreciated, call 641.337.5019 or email lisaswanson@wallace.org. The Wallace Center is located at 2773 290th Street, Orient.

Literary Event: Tuesday, July 14 at 6:30 pm @ Henry Wallace Country Life Ctr. 
Read the book, The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry by Zevin and then discuss it with other people who attend. Libraries in Adair county will have copies of the book available for loan and for sale for $5.00. Refreshments will be served for $8.00.
