Learn how to eat more veggies….and enjoy doing it!

Vegetable intake is important for overall health; however, Iowans are not consuming the recommended servings of vegetables daily with over one-quarter (26.9%) of adults in Iowa eating vegetables less than one time daily. Vegetable consumption is important for optimal weight management and chronic disease prevention.
Barb Fuller, ISU Extension Nutrition and Wellness Program Specialist, will present the Veg Out! program on April 7, 10 AM at the Orient Public Library.  Participants will learn the potential health benefits of including more vegetables in the diet, discuss barriers to increasing vegetable intake, model vegetable consumption through a making a salad and sampling of homemade dressings, and set goals to meet the daily vegetable recommendation.
